River House Cafe: Your Go-To American Eatery in Charleroi, PA

Go one time, and you’ll quickly fall in love. This stunning expansive restaurant is what we call our “home base” for a meal out. River House is the perfect location for anything from a date to hosting a large event. If you’re looking for a cozy booth tucked away, you’ve got it. If you prefer a more open feel with high tops and flat screens ( sports fans will be more than pleased), they’ve got you covered . When you enter you’re immediately greeted by the cozy yet swanky interior, with their nostalgic spinning door entry, and velvet couches in the waiting area. The updates the new owners have done have kept the original charm while adding some modern upgrades keeping the place clean and fresh. If you’re anything like us, it’s a struggle finding a restaurant where everyone in the family can find multiple menu items they enjoy. River House offers such a broad and incredible menu, there is literally something for everyone. Add in the incredible daily and weekend specials, and you’ll always have something new to try. If you are a dessert lover you came to the right place. They have an ever changing menu of incredible cakes, cheesecakes, tiramisu, cannolis, etc. which can be browsed from a massive glass case. We have always had wonderful service, although we are partial to our favorite waitress, Lindsay. If you’re dinning in keep a look out for one of the 3 owners, as they usually will be popping by tables to say hello. River House is a staple to the Charleroi community with a constant aray of events and local fundraisers- proving they’re not just about good food, but also about good karma. Give them a try, and become a fan for life!

Usually we come in and sit at the bar, but last night the bar was full. So, we were happy to sit in the restaurant for the first time. Our server was gwen*. She was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the menu. Mussels were a little salty but everything else was delicious. Chicken Romano is probably my new favorite and that lemon basil dressing is super flavorful. My partner got the crab cake dinner and she loved them. We cant wait to eat our leftovers. We have never had a bad experience, which makes this our favorite place in the area! Service is top notch, food is always fast and steamy hot. If we dont like something, we voice our opinion and it is quickly resolved. Great place to be.

My family of 6 really enjoyed our dinner Saturday night. The service was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and said they would definitely return. 3 had burgers, 2 had the Beef Burgundy Sheperd pie special, and I had the crabcakes. Strongly suggest you check this place out!

I had a great dinner at River House Café tonight! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the menu had a ton of great options at reasonable prices. Highly recommend checking it out!

We order take-out at least once a month and never had a bad experience! Our go to for pick up when we don't want to cook but still want homemade great food! We have tried quite a few different meals & sides and everything has always hit the spot.

I work in the area so we always have our happy hours or grab lunch from River House Cafe. Never been disappointed! Friendly staff and the food is good. Their pizza buffet is legit and today I tried their wings. Cooked to perfection and the sauce we on point. Crab cake sandwich wasn't bad either. If you order the sweet potato fries they will come with a little side of maple syrup dip. Nice touch. See you guys soon.
